Are You Broke?

by Johnny Palmer

Are you broke? Really are you? I’m speaking in a financial aspect. Do you not have any money? Habitually, before the end of the month do you not have enough funds to adequately cover all of your expenses? Be honest…the truth shall set you free.

Just three years ago, I was broke. Even though I earned an above average income, I was broke. Within the past three years, I’ve made a few changes that have allowed me to now have a positive cash flow and substantial wealth. I’d like to share with you three simple practices that have allowed me to turn my financial situation around to a positive instead of a negative:

1. I Gave Away Money
This was really hard for me to do…it was sort of like going to the dentist for a root canal or something, but it was something that I knew that I had to do in order to get the money that I needed. I gave money in the form of a tithe at my church, but you can give in whatever manner that you see fit…just do it. You’ll be amazed at the results. It seems like as soon as I gave away money, I would receive funds from some of the most unlikely sources. Remember….give and you shall receive.

2. Take Action
I’m the type of person that has great faith. I’ve always tended to look at the positives in life. I have always seen myself as a happy, healthy, wealthy and wise person…even when I was flat broke. I discovered that although I had a healthy self-esteem, I didn’t perform the actions that were necessary to achieve my goals. It wasn’t until I began to plan and perform actions that were geared toward my desires that they manifested in my life. I started small and you can also. As you take small actions and start to see small results, you will gain the momentum and confidence to perform the actions that will allow you to achieve your major goals. Get started now….remember…faith without works is dead.

3. Expect to Receive Money
This was super hard for me to do when I was broke. My reality was that I was late on most of my bills and I didn’t see how I was going to pay them. My expectation was that I wasn’t going to have the money to pay for my expenses. Money wasn’t able to flow into my life until I changed my expectations. I started to see my bills as paid on time and my bank accounts as having sufficient funds to live a financially prosperous life. I began this process by simply starting to expect money. I remember I would expect my clients to pay me on time and almost magically they would. Now I expect (and receive) money in amounts that I never thought possible. You should start immediately to expect to receive the money that you need to live a prosperous life no matter what your current financial situation. Try it... you’ll be amazed.

That’s about it. I’ve learned to keep everything simple. The main thing is to remain consistent once you start...Good Luck!
