- Work Hard. Play Hard. It's great to work hard, but don't forget to rejuvinate yourself by having some fun, working out, meeting with fellow colleagues. You'll find renewed energy and be more productive.
- Motivate your employees by making an offer of paid time off. You will be surprised by the results.

- Have an effective 15 to 30 second elevator pitch. Learn how to sell yourself before your services or products. People want to hear about you first and when they know you and trust you, they will buy your services or refer you to someone else.

- Respect your time and the time of your clients. Be an advocate of meeting your deadlines.
- Enable customers to get in touch with you easily—via direct contact, email, phone and regular mail—and ALWAYS respond promptly and professionally.
- Listen to your customer's needs and do your very best to satisfy those needs with your products or services.
- Set Goals for your business production. You should have daily, weekly, monthly and yearly business production goals.
- Revisit the reason why you started your business. Never lose sight of that vision. When times get rough, remember your initial purpose of going into business and retain that focus.
- Constantly ask your customers for feedback on the quality of your products or services. Show them that you care about customer service. Implement some of their suggestions.
- Never give up! Never give in to the difficulties that are going to come your way in business. Stay focused on providing the BEST products and services.
- Know your competition. Be certain that you understand what your competition does well and implement some of the same strategies in your business practices.
- Planning and Execution are the keys to your success. You must take the time to plan your activities and follow through on those plans. As a suggestion, take at least 30 minutes each day to write action plans for the following day.
- Pay specific attention to your finances. Always know the state of your account receivables and payables.
