Why you should be selling on eBay
April 15, 2006
Lately eBay and other online auction sites have been a hot topic of discussion for many entrepreneurs. Personally, I have been selling items on eBay for the past 5 years and can attest that this is the best means I have found for selling my wares. I’ve sold everything from old suits to new cars on eBay. This is a huge marketplace and if you are not selling your products on eBay you are missing out on a lot of profits. There are literally millions of online auctions taking place as you are reading this article. Many people simply do not realize the profits that are to be made via online auctions.
Do you realize that eBay is the largest auction website in the world? eBay has been the leader of the online auction industry from the time it was launched in 1995. Okay, enough about what a great company eBay has grown to become, let’s discuss how your business can directly benefit by selling it’s products on eBay. Below are a number of important ways your business can benefit from selling merchandise on eBay. These techniques are shared by Ryan Cameron who is an expert eBay seller that teaches others how he earns $200,000 per year selling on eBay (www.auction-elite.com):
1. You Can Road Test Price Points For Your Inventory
A very easy and effective way to test new and existing product prices is to scout out what people on eBay and other auction websites bid for your items. Once you have tested a few different auction sites, calculate the average selling price and that will give you a fair idea about the potential sale price of your product.
2. Sell Off Your Excess And Discontinued Stock
Another way to benefit from eBay is to put up for sale all your excess and discontinued stock. Remember there is certainly no point in leaving your unsold inventory sitting around gathering dust. Instead, why not sell your overstock on eBay and try and recoup your financial losses. Who knows, you may even bring in a tidy profit as a result.
3. Find Business Supplies For Below Retail Costs
There is no better place online then eBay when it comes to finding business supplies for below retail costs. This doesn't occur with every item your business may need. However, if you're in the market for a new computer, for example, you may want to browse over to eBay and see what's on offer. More than likely you will discover a bargain or two.
4. Sell Your Own Products On eBay
Some of the bigger auction sites like eBay draw over a million hits a day. With this in mind, there is no greater place to sell your own products. Setup an eBay store and watch your bids soar.
With the increasing popularity of websites such as eBay it has never been easier to sell with online auctions. So if you're looking to get your business online, then eBay is a great place to start.
Good luck or Happy eBaying as we like to say. Keep me posted of your successes.
Sincerely,
Johnny
