Philanthropy Still Down, But Starting to Creep Up - Five Years After Crash

Once a year, the analysts at the Giving USA Foundation release the results of analysis conducted in partnership with Indiana University showing the basic numbers of American philanthropy - a macro look at giving as an important economic sector. The "annual estimates are based on econometric models using tax data, government estimates for economic indicators and information from other research institutions," according to the Giving USA, which released its 58th annual version yesterday.
